Workshop Description
Most people in the diving world have a soft spot for turtles and who can blame them? It’s always exciting on a dive to see a turtle but how much do you really know about these charismatic reptiles? If you are looking to become a turtle expert than this course is for you.
In this workshop conducted by Georgina Hayes, our in-house Marine Biologist, you will get an general understanding of the different turtles that exist in our aquatic environment with an emphasis on the three turtles we see in the Nusa Penida area; the green turtle (Chelonia mydas), the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and the olive ridley (Lepitochelys olivacea). Learn general facts about these three turtles as well as their basic anatomy, diet, reproduction, and their life cycle.
This workshop is intended for any divers or individuals who are interesting in learning more about marine creatures – specifically the different species of sea turtle. If you are planning a dive vacation to an area where turtles are found, such as Nusa Ceningan, Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Penida in Bali, this workshop teaches you how to identify the turtle you are looking at as well as give you a greater appreciation for said reptile by understanding more about them.
This workshop is part of our originally created series at Ceningan Divers. You can complete each module individually or as a part of our Marine Conservation Diver Certification Program.
